Registrations now open for SA State Conference 2012!
Meet like-minded students, develop public speaking and negotiation skills and extend your knowledge of international affairs at the UN Youth South Australia State Conference 2012! The three day conference offers interactive workshops and fantastic guest speakers, this year including Mr Hieu Van Le A.O., Lieutenant Governer of South Australia and Chairman of the South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission, and Darren Hassan, well known for his appearance in the successful SBS TV series Go Back to Where You Came From. As a delegate at State Conference 2012, you will also take on many different roles representing the opinions of different nations as you participate in a Joint Cabinet Crisis, trying with your own cabinet to negotiate your way out of a difficult international dispute with another, and acting as the representative of a member state of the United Nations General Assembly in a day of Model United Nations debate. State Conference 2012 promises, as always, to be an exciting and unforgettable weekend.

COST: $155 per delegate.

UN Youth, believing in the purposes and principles of the United Nations, aims to encourage young people to strive towards a greater understanding of global issues, and to educate them about the United Nations' structure, functions and future. Operating as a national network of young volunteers, UN Youth Australia is based firmly on a philosophy of best practice youth-for-youth leadership.
UN Youth Australia aims to develop students' skills in vital areas such as debating, negotiation, leadership, problem-solving and understanding of international affairs in an accessible and supportive environment. By encouraging young people to discuss and debate important issues amongst their peers and the broader community, UN Youth Australia gives voice to the concerns of young people. Ultimately, UN Youth Australia plays a dual role as an educational and advocacy body for Australia's young people.
UN Youth South Australia run a series of programs throughout the year, including our premier events, the UN Youth SA State Conference, and the South Australian qualifying rounds of the Evatt Trophy Schools Model United Nations Security Council Debating Competition.
