
Registrations now open for Kofi Trophy!
The Kofi Trophy Model United Nations Security Council Debating Competition invites teams of two delegates to represent one of the fifteen member states of the UN Security Council to debate a series of resolutions in the Council and prove their skills as diplomats! The competition is open to any student studying at a South Australian Tertiary Institution. It's a great way to improve your public speaking and negotiation skills, gain an understanding of the challenges of the United Nations and international politics, meet new people, and have some fun!
WHEN: Council 1 Heats will be held at 6:30pm on Wednesday 2 May and Wednesday 16 May. Council 2 Heats will be held on Wednesday 9 May and Wednesday 23 May. The top fifteen teams from the two heats will be selected to compete in the Grand Finals at 6:30pm on Wednesday 30 May, and find themselves in the running to win $200 prize money!
WHERE: All rounds will be held at the Conference Room, Christian Brothers College, 214 Wakefield St, Adelaide.

UN Youth, believing in the purposes and principles of the United Nations, aims to encourage young people to strive towards a greater understanding of global issues, and to educate them about the United Nations' structure, functions and future. Operating as a national network of young volunteers, UN Youth Australia is based firmly on a philosophy of best practice youth-for-youth leadership.
UN Youth Australia aims to develop students' skills in vital areas such as debating, negotiation, leadership, problem-solving and understanding of international affairs in an accessible and supportive environment. By encouraging young people to discuss and debate important issues amongst their peers and the broader community, UN Youth Australia gives voice to the concerns of young people. Ultimately, UN Youth Australia plays a dual role as an educational and advocacy body for Australia's young people.
UN Youth South Australia run a series of programs throughout the year, including our premier events, the UN Youth SA State Conference, and the South Australian qualifying rounds of the Evatt Trophy Schools Model United Nations Security Council Debating Competition.
